Controversial televangelist Pastor James Ng’ang’a has opened up about the strained relationship with his son, revealing that he recently beat him up and later blocked him over what he described as disruptive, drunken behaviour.
Speaking during a recent sermon at his Neno Evangelism Centre church, Ng’ang’a did not hold back, recounting a distressing incident where his son, who he stated is battling alcoholism, showed up at his home intoxicated.
The preacher alleged that his son then proceeded to threaten other members of the household with a knife.
Known for his fiery sermons and often controversial takes, the Neno Evangelism Centre founder emphasised that he could not allow his son to disturb the peace he has fought so hard to attain.
He vividly recalled his own difficult past, including time spent in prison for armed robbery, and how he credits salvation for transforming his life and bringing him to his current standing.
Ng’ang’a also made it unequivocally clear that his considerable wealth is not simply "up for grabs"—even for his own children.
“You have to pay the price. Even when I give it to you freely, they will still come for it. Because they see you have not paid the price,” he asserted, implying that his children must earn their own way and understand the value of hard-won success.
The pastor’s remarks have stirred debate online, with some supporting his tough-love approach, while others raised concerns about family violence and generational healing.
