The U.S. Embassy in Nairobi is seeking qualified officers from the Kenya National Police Service (NPS) to serve as Police Fraud Investigators under a joint assignment with the American diplomatic mission.

The position is open exclusively to currently serving NPS officers ranked Inspector or below.

Successful candidates will remain employees of the NPS but will work closely with U.S. law enforcement officials.

Depending on operational needs, officers may be stationed at the U.S. Embassy or Gigiri Police Station.

The role involves investigating visa and passport fraud, immigration-related offences, procurement fraud, and financial crimes.

Officers will also support VIP protection assignments and respond to emergencies around the clock.

Applicants are required to hold a university degree in social sciences or law enforcement—or demonstrate equivalent experience—and must have served at least three years in investigative or prosecutorial roles, preferably with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Additional requirements include fluency in both English and Kiswahili, a valid manual driver’s license with a minimum of three years’ driving experience, and strong familiarity with Kenyan legal and administrative documents.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work with international agencies are essential.

Interested officers were directed to apply online through the Kenya Police Service platform by uploading a personal essay, an endorsement letter from their supervisor, a CV, and certified copies of academic and professional certificates. Only shortlisted candidates were to be contacted for the next phase.
