Most counterfeited goods in the automotive sector

The automotive sector in Kenya faces significant challenges from counterfeit goods, as revealed by the Anti-Counterfeit Authority's Firm-Level Survey Report 2025.

The data indicates that four-wheeler spare parts and accessories are the most counterfeited items, accounting for a staggering 81.8%.

Maintenance products follow at 67.3%, highlighting a widespread issue across vehicle upkeep.

Customisation products and motorcycle parts are also heavily affected, at 43.8% and 33.9% respectively.

A small percentage of others make up 1.5%.

The prevalence of fake automotive products poses serious risks to vehicle safety, performance, and consumer finances.
