County governments will get Sh415 billion in equitable share in the next financial year.

This is an increase of Sh28 billion from the current year's allocation of Sh387 billion.

This comes after a mediation committee composed of members from the two houses struck a deal after four days of intense negotiations.

The committee is co-chaired by Mandera Senator Ali Roba and Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi.

The senators demanded Sh465 billion allocation to the devolved units, with their National Assembly counterparts pushing for Sh405 billion.
