Top official suspected of spying for opposition under close watch

A SENIOR GOVERNMENT official is reportedly under covert surveillance amid suspicions of leaking sensitive information to opposition politicians. Unknown to him, he is being closely monitored after someone within government circles labelled him a prime suspect at a meeting of top officials. It is alleged that the official has maintained close ties with a prominent opposition figure, to whom he is said to be relaying confidential details from high-level government meetings, which are then used in propaganda campaigns. 

A CONTROVERSIAL SECOND-TERM lawmaker is a worried man. Reports indicate that one of his handlers, who is allegedly notorious for obtaining cash from contractors, is nursing gunshot wounds and is currently recuperating at a renowned hospital. A little bird whispered to Corridors of Power that the lawmaker has since changed his cellphone number and uses different cars out of fear of the unknown. Apparently abandoned, the aide is said to be desperately pleading for his boss to come to his rescue. But the boss has reportedly instructed everyone in his office not to answer the man's calls.

THE SON OF a sitting governor is reportedly courting influential businessmen within the county, promising them lucrative tenders in exchange for cash. He was allegedly overheard stating that he needs a Sh500 million war chest to support his parent’s re-election campaign in 2027. He also hinted that part of the funds would be used to bankroll party campaigns in other regions of the country, a strategy aimed at securing the party's nomination—seen as crucial to boosting their chances of victory. 

A FIRST-TERM GOVERNOR is facing intense scrutiny over questionable staffing decisions in his administration. Notably, he is reported to have appointed two deputy county secretaries—both of whom are his cousins—despite the position legally requiring only one. Additionally, he is has allegedly hired more than six advisers, exceeding the limit of four. All of them are reportedly his in-laws. The governor has responded by accusing the area senator of leaking the information and using the Senate as a tool to undermine him.
