Corridors of Power has learned that the controversial lawmaker, tired of repeatedly condemning and calling for investigations, rejected calls from the party rank and file to sign a statement following the murder of a social media influencer, forcing party mandarins to supposedly issue a statement in the name of the party leader. It remains to be seen what action will be taken against the politician for what his critics purportedly call abdication of duty.

The man, who not long ago was railing at the government for fostering ethnic balkanisation, has reportedly packed people from his ethnic community in almost every opening in his docket. So brazen is the man that he allegedly speaks his mother tongue with his staff, unbothered that it is a public office where people from different parts of the country need service. Maybe the agitations are all about power, not ideologies after all.
