A RENOWNED CIVIL society outfit with an international reputation can't effectively deal with its inherent power struggle. The chairman of the board, whose role should basically be advisory on general strategic policy direction, can't stop micromanaging the secretariat led by the executive director. The man has even been releasing press statements on behalf of the lobby, a role that is ideally reserved for the head of the secretariat in similar agencies, unless in extraordinary circumstances. There has been endless disquiet on the overbearing nature of the current chairman, with staff claiming that at the heart of the issue is control of the entity's fat purse well stocked by donors.

A SENIOR COP in the rank of superintendent working in Nairobi doesn't see eye to eye with his junior, whom he accuses of selling his supposed illegal gold worth Sh12 million for just Sh9 million. The man has reportedly been protecting Chinese foreign nationals who deal in illegal gold trade and has made a fortune from it.  He has so far transferred the junior to a new station not far from the CBD. The junior is now pleading with his bosses to come to his rescue, as the big man is reportedly still seething in rage and was allegedly heard threatening to shoot him.

A YOUTHFUL MP from a populous region, who has a litany of cases dogging his fledgling political career, is flying into a new storm after he allegedly slapped the aide of his former boss. The MP, who is never shy of controversy, is said to have been infuriated by comments by his former boss counselling women and young girls to be wary of pedophiles on the prowl. The lawmaker, fearing the comment would unearth his past and deny him the majority youthful vote, had a meltdown. The man, together with his goons, has been declared persona non grata in parts of his constituency, with residents baying for his blood.

We are told that before the incident, there had been a sustained social media campaign against the boss, and he had suspicions about bloggers being used to mudsling him. People in his corner believe that even the recent tragic happening is part of the wider sabotage scheme. The alleged man believes his senior colleagues and certain politicians have formed a scheme to sustain a smear campaign against him, with the end game of ousting him.
