This initial step, despite the modest pay, clearly fueled his drive and ambition in the field that would become his lifelong career.

Beyond the newsroom and drama series production, Rashid Abdalla is also involved in community initiatives, specifically through the Rashid Abdalla Cup.

When asked about the purpose of this tournament, he outlined several key objectives, all centered around empowering young people.

He explained that the tournament "aims at helping the talented youths". One primary goal is talent identification and showcasing, as he noted it.

"The tournament targets to showcase talents as well as fostering harmony, cohesion, and unity among the youth,” he added.

He also highlighted that the tournament stresses values that extend beyond the football field itself, mentioning that it "is a tournament that also has many values beyond the pitch".

These values are promoted through activities conducted even before the tournament officially begins.
