A FORMER COUNTY chief, appointed to a devolved unit after losing elections, has allegedly sparked controversy after publicly clashing with his boss, a former colleague in a body that brings together the 47 county bosses, over allegations of running an extortion ring. The ex-county boss and his associates reportedly swindled millions from investors and contractors, promising meetings or lucrative tenders in exchange for bribes. Yet, none of the victims have secured deals. The scandal is now said to have erupted publicly, drawing fierce criticism and demands for the fellow and his cronies’ dismissal and prosecution.

A POLITICO FROM Western with a penchant for insisting on bloggers from his region covering his functions, is said to be embroiled in a big fight with a prominent journalist over a deal supposedly gone sour. The two have fallen out after the public figure allegedly reneged on a deal. The politico had reportedly asked the journalist to help him collect a longstanding debt, out of which the collector was to get 20 per cent. Corridors of Power is apprised that despite the journalist's tedious errands, the man is claimed to have flatly refused to pay up and has been taking the guru in circles.

WHAT ARE SO many foreigners doing in one of the constituencies in Eastland of Nairobi? And how were so many of them allowed into the country to begin with? Do they have proper documents or someone is sleeping on the job? These are the questions some residents are reportedly asking. The foreigners, many of them from South Asia, are now living with their families comfortably without no qualms. Interestingly, some claim to have come to Kenya as refugees. Many are now engaging in local activities, including working in car washes.
