The school asked the official to stop dropping off and picking up his children in school “with the trappings of power”. It’s not clear whether the school was uncomfortable with the occasional sirens. The man has now moved his children to even a more expensive school.

The political bigwig has reportedly said he is fed up with what he calls the governor’s erratic management style. The governor’s latest decision to confront key establishments over some dues, disrupting operations, is said to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. The big man has now told his inner circle the county chief cannot be helped, given his unilateral approach to thorny issues, making him more unpopular by the day.

A POPULAR GOVERNOR’S alleged attempt to force his preferred nominees for the county’s Public Service Board has flopped. This is after some MCAs raised the red flag and threatened to mobilise their colleagues to reject the nominees. One of the key names in the list was the governor’s niece. Also in the list was the governor’s maternal uncle. Sensing defeat, it is said the governor recalled the names and said he is consulting widely before making fresh replacements. Insiders say the county boss was shocked that MCAs had ganged up and vowed to block his nominations.
