A SENIOR MP with close links to power has reportedly struck it rich. The MP has now allegedly built a helipad in his house with a chopper being his most preferred means of transport. During a tour of his constituency recently, the MP used his chopper to traverse the electoral area. Many are wondering how he is also said to be getting millions that he is allegedly donating during public harambees in parts of the country. The high-profile harambees have sent shock waves among his 2027 competitors who fear that it would be impossible to unseat him given the massive resources he has. Whether he will sustain the mojo to 2027 is a matter that time will tell.

WORD IS A former seasoned lawmaker has been left nursing bruised egos after being snubbed in the interim leadership positions of a political party that was launched recently. The man, who severed his ties with former political formation and known for loyalty that borders on blind faith, was allegedly missing from the list, despite assurances that he will be one of the key figures in the new entity. He was said to be one of the backers when the idea of the new outfit was first flouted. Murmurs are rife that the man may reconsider his future. This column will keep an eye as the matter unfolds.

IT’S ALLEGED THAT one of the key ministries lost Sh275 million to fraudsters. A female operative who works in a big office and hails from the Mt Kenya region reportedly carried out the heist. The woman, in collusion with some lawyers and ministry insiders, wired the cash, which was in one of the ministry’s idle account to an Arab nation. The cash was wired back to Kenya and into the accounts of some lawyers based in Nairobi. The lawyers claim to have won a landmark ruling in a case involving key figures in a critical office and a leading business. However, those in the know say the case is a fake and it was just a scheme to swindle the government cash.

MCAS IN ONE of the counties have warned the deputy governor against trusting the county chief ahead of the 2027 election. An insider said the ward reps convened a secret meeting where they told the DG how the governor promised them ward fund, tenders, employment of some of their supporters and many others but instead, appointed their key competitors as ward administrators and ward coordinators. The ward leaders are said to have advised the DG to have a plan B, as the governor will dump him way before the polls.
