Political orphan? Western MP faces resistance in bid to rejoin party

A flamboyant first-term lawmaker from western is pulling all stops to warm his way back into the good graces of the very political group he once boldly walked out on. But if he thought the road back would be paved with red carpets and warm hugs, he is in for a rude awakening. We are told how party officials are yet to ease up on his moves. Some are still smarting from the lawmaker’s past barbs and what they call “political betrayal for personal survival”. Others are quietly sceptical, wondering if his return is more about securing a party ticket for 2027 or a genuine reunion.

Some insiders were overheard lamenting how officers presiding over the recruitment process disregarded the dictates of the law. There are assertions that candidates' qualifications and experience were overlooked in the listing and promotions.  The grand question by those following the events keenly is: Who authorised the hiring of the extra employees? They point fingers at political forces.

Why is a top politico ignoring the sorry state of one of his aides? The leader has sparked talk for reportedly snubbing one of his aides who is sinking into alcohol. The aide has been spotted harbouring serious hangovers at the big man’s events. Apart from developing a foul relationship with professionals he often interacts with, the fellow is accused of perfecting the art of misleading his boss. He is said to be inviting busybodies to events hosted by the big man in an attempt to prove to his boss he has a wide network of the targeted professionals.
