Meanwhile, in Magadi, Kajiado County, two suspects were lynched by a mob in a suspected theft case.

They were accused of stealing gates on Marangara Road when an alarm was raised.

A mob responded and attacked them with stones and pangas, killing them on the spot.

Police collected the bodies and took them to the mortuary.

They have launched investigations and cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands.

Officers urged the public to surrender suspects to authorities, warning that some victims of mob justice may be innocent or falsely accused.

There have been rising cases of mob lynchings across the country amid concerns over declining public trust in the police.

Pundits argue the trend is fueled by perceptions of ineffective policing.
