Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday hosted Muslims for an Iftar dinner at State House.
During the dinner, Museveni commended the Muslims for being consistent during their fasting period.
"I congratulate the Muslim community on making it this far in Ramadan. We have only a few days left, and I pray that the Good Lord keeps us strong until the end," Museveni said.
Museveni acknowledged that Africans have historically lacked a unified perspective, which has led to many challenges.
"I believe some people have confused religion with culture, missing out on important aspects of our traditional way of life."
