Anxiety among staff as county chief re-appoints dismissed adviser

CONTRACTORS IN A county in Mt Kenya who thrived during an ex-governor’s reign are up in arms against the son of the current county boss. They blame the young man for their woes, accusing him of influencing the award of tenders to outsiders. Popularly known as “prime minister” within the governor’s power circles, the man’s decision is said to be final. He is also known to terrorise anyone standing on his way to the county coffers.

A NOISY PROFESSIONAL is not happy that his campaign to have some judges removed from office over alleged graft and incompetence has failed to gather support and momentum. The man, who had gone ahead to print shirts with caricatures of some of the judges, has been accused of being used by certain government institutions to have the judges removed for political expediency. The pain of the activist has been catalysed by social media users, who are now pulling old newspaper articles to depict him as someone who has earned notoriety in fighting top judges not friendly to him.

ANXIETY IS MOUNTING in a county in Western after a governor reappointed an adviser he had parted ways with earlier. The official has been telling staff that he is back to deal with those who disrespected him, among them the county secretary and a chief officer. The man has also vowed to ruthlessly deal with the deputy governor. Since his return, the official has been insisting he only reports to none other than the governor.
