A GOVERNOR WHO has consistently scored highly for his work could be staring at trouble. There are reports, some already sent to investigative agencies, that the governor’s spouse is siphoning public funds. It’s alleged the amount could be up to Sh200 million. The scheme involves falsifying documents to justify fraudulent payments and forgery of signatures of former county officials. Some funds meant for genuine contractors were reportedly channeled to proxies and shell companies. The governor is also under fire for erecting billboards with personal images across the expansive devolved unit.

A DECLARATION BY a top politician that his party will conduct nominations for all elective positions has rattled incumbents in a certain part of the country. Why? He also wants the police to protect him from local contractors who are baying for his blood. The contractors have declared the whistleblower a dead man walking after he exposed how they had been raising invoices despite supplying nothing to the county.
