President William Ruto on Saturday led Kenya’s delegation to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as the African Union leaders voted for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairman.

Kenya’s candidate Raila Odinga is among the three candidates seeking to replace outgoing chair, Moussa Faki, of Chad.

The former Prime Minister is facing Djibouti’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, and Madagascar’s former Foreign Affairs Minister Richard Randriamandrato in the elections.

The Kenyan team in Addis include Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, NIS boss Noordin Haji and a host of lawmakers.

There are also governors who traveled to support Raila.
