President William Ruto on Thursday inspected the ongoing construction of the 408-unit Garissa Affordable Housing Project.

During his inspection, the president spoke about the unacceptable conditions of the residents in the informal settlements.

Millions of Kenyans live in informal settlements and unacceptable conditions. This is untenable,” Ruto said.

The president further added that the government wants the project to be complete so that they can offer proper shelter.

"That is why we are determined to make our Affordable Housing Programme a success in providing decent shelter," he said.
