He urged the public and religious leaders to step up efforts to end the vice, terming it a moral obligation that should not solely be left to law enforcement.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said the national government will disburse an additional Sh32 billion to county governments.

The funds, he said, will reflect in counties' accounts on or by Thursday, December 19.
