A HIGH-HANDED STATE officer who has featured prominently in the media for his unbecoming conduct has directed his anger at junior officers. The man, who never responds to media inquiries, heads a top state institution. He recently summoned a junior officer and berated him for not protecting him against negative publicity in the mainstream media. The officer is said to run the public institution like his kiosk. He never takes any advice or allows his juniors to do their work freely. Often, he flies out business class accompanied by huge delegations, including relatives and joy riders.


IT APPEARS A rash of troubles is far from over for a politico, following an alleged bigger scheme set to unfold in the coming days. Corridors of Power overheard some of the plotters whispering how they intend to tame the man on their radar further and make him more vulnerable. Part of the grand scheme comprises unspecified radical steps the plotters believe will cause the man to complain for days – all for political expediency, they say, to the woe of the politico who has his eyes set on bigger ambitions.

A COUNTY CHIEF roundly demonised by constituents is said to have thrown in the towel. The politician is said to have shunted his reelection plan to the back burner ostensibly having assessed how the ground has grown hostile towards him. He started assembling a team in earnest to shape his agenda and message for the electorate but all that appears to have been dropped. A LAWMAKER FROM a populous and politically charged region is distraught after apparently failing to come to terms with vain efforts to grow his popularity. After a recent visit by a big man to the region, the man expected to gain popularity and increase his approval on the ground. Locals have, however, made it clear that while they may accept the man’s money, their votes would still be guided by the dominant party in the region. The fellow’s frantic efforts have been greeted by jeers of disapproval whenever he makes stops in the constituency he is eyeing in 2027.
